Accounting Technician

Location: Saskatoon, SK

As an Accounting Technician you will take responsibility for generating customer invoices and statements, posting receipts in QuickBooks as well as posting invoices for Accounts Payable.


In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of the month-end tasks, support our internal team and interact with customers in a professional manner.

Job Duties

  • Post customer payments by recording cash, checks, and charging credit card on account using CAFT.
  • Keep receivable postings up to date to provide management with clear standing on the accounts.
  • Process accounting receivables and incoming payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Generate weekly receivable reports and follow up with managers on past due payments.
  • Verify validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales managers and customers.
  • Reconcile bank statements are other intercompany accounts.
  • Post monthly rent payments from tenants.
  • Process month end and memorized transactions.
  • Verify customer payments are in accordance with their contract.
  • Resolve collections by examining customer payment plans, payment history, and credit line.
  • Summarize receivables by maintaining invoice accounts and coordinating monthly transfers.
  • Accomplish accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording accounts receivables data.
  • Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Verify discrepancies by and resolve clients’ billing issues.
  • Facilitate payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
  • Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status.
  • Protect organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

Competencies:

Credentials:

  • Combination of academic achievement, experience (3-5 years as a BA), attitude and potential.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Business.
  • Experience and a demonstrated understanding of software development from requirements through to technical implementation and testing. SDLC.
  • Strong understanding of the full implementation lifecycle including requirements, architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
  • Knowledge of cloud solutions and concepts would be a definite asset.
